Top 5 Breweries Near Our Redemption Square Apartments
If you’re a fan of craft beer, our Redemption Square apartments are a great place to live. We’re lucky enough to have some of the Houston area’s best breweries nearby, including a few in and around Humble as well as plenty of breweries located within Houston itself. And whether you’re a fan of stouts and porters, sours and hefeweizens, or ultra-hoppy IPAs, you can easily find a local brewery to suit your tastes. Here are just a few of our favorite breweries near our apartments off West Lake Houston Parkway.
Located near the southern edge of Humble, TX, Ingenious Brewing is a popular spot serving up craft beers alongside food trucks and good vibes. People love this place not just for the wide variety of beers brewed here but also for the friendly service and vibrant atmosphere.
One thing that sets Ingenious apart from other breweries is the adventurous selection of brews, which changes seasonally and features gems like their Soda Shop cream ales (including orange and cherry cola flavors), the Franken FroYo hazy milkshake double IPA, and the Peanut Butter & Jelly Marshmallow imperial stout.
Located in Huffman, just across the bridge from Atascocita, Lake Houston Brewery enjoys great views of the lake and often plays host to live music at its outdoor biergarten. Get there in the early evening and enjoy watching the sunset over the lake as you sip your beers.
This brewery features a variety of styles, from pilsners and witbiers to hazy IPAs to stouts and brown ales that are perfect for wintertime.
In North Houston, near Eastex, you’ll find SpindleTap’s taproom and outdoor entertainment complex, which features mini golf, corn hole, and sports fields. Since they added this park area to their site, it’s become an even better place to spend a weekend afternoon with some craft beers and friendly competition among your friends.
On the menu, you’ll find plenty of variety, including favorites like their Tessellations sour series, the Houston Haze IPA, and the Black Gold Nitro imperial stout which is rich in coffee flavor and ideal for wintertime. IPA lovers are particular fans of SpindleTap due to the wide variety offered in just this category alone.
Not far from SpindleTap, City Acre Brewing is located just off I-69 and features a rustic taproom that serves burgers and seasonal fare, plus weekend brunch. Their specialties include the Vigo, a Russian imperial stout, Straightjacket Weather, a peppermint stout, and the Stay Golden Girl, a lemon ginger lager. They also have standbys that offer a more classic flavor profile, like their Skull Creek Kolsch and the Bayouwolf IPA.
You’ll also find cocktails, wine, cider, and non-alcoholic drinks on their menu, so it’s a great place to visit with a group of friends with diverse tastes. Their menu is just long enough to offer plenty of variety without being overwhelming.
Megaton is located all the way out in Kingwood, but it’s well worth the twenty-minute drive from our Redemption Square apartments. This brewery features live music in addition to food trucks and games on site like billiards and cornhole. Plus, their covered outdoor seating pavilion is a great place to hang out even when the weather isn’t ideal.
Their beers rotate seasonally, running the gamut from golden ales and saisons to stours and imperial IPAs and everything between and beside. You’ll even find some wine and ciders on their draft list as well as a cozy gingerbread stout that is best experienced during wintertime.
